To pack or not to pack.
May 4, 2011
A couple of days ago I got a lot of the boxes, packing materials, tape, and markers I needed to start packing up the house. Yet I can’t bring myself to start. I know I need too. The POD will be here soon for me to start filling up and we are in the works of closing on a beautiful farm house in Liberty, MO. (It’s about 25 mins North of downtown Kansas City, MO.) Yet here I stand in the living room staring at all the boxes. My mind drifts and I find myself staring out the window.
I don’t mean to sound as if I’m not excited about the move. I am. I’m ecstatic about new opportunities, more friends, the idea of a new chapter in the story of our lives together, and living in big city that has “City” in its name.
I know some of my hesitation is because once I start packing it makes it all real. I’m not ready for it to be real just yet. I think I’ll let the boxes sit a few more days and I’ll ponder their fate over my coffee in the morning.
–In case you didn’t know my partner of 7years got a job in Kansas City so we are moving from Fayetteville, AR to KC. He moved up in February to start work. We thought/think it would be best to wait till school is out before our daughter and I move up in June.–
