Diets Never Work…

March 6, 2012

I really just make up my recipes or I get them from this website http://paleofood.com/#baked You can totes buy the book at Barnes and Noble or Amazon.com btw it is worth it just for the first three chapters. Overall I cut out all dairy, grains, and legumes. I increased my fruit, nuts, veggies, and meat consumption.

My Paleo Day:

I typically have 4 eggs for breakfast. Sometimes I add kale or spinach, onions, diced up chicken from the night before.

For a snack I have a homemade trail mix of raw almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, cranberries, and prunes.Paleo Trail Mix

Lunch is usually leftovers from the night before.

Second snack I finish off my trail mix.

Dinner I rotate through fish, some variation of steak, turkey, or chicken. The meat is usually palm sized with the rest of my plate being veggies.

And on days I go to the gym (Monday-Friday) I substitute my trail mix or lunch for a Hemp Protein Smoothie. I use almond milk or coconut milk, frozen fruit or a banana, spoon full of organic maca powder, tea spoon of bee pollen, and a dash of love.

I really don’t think of it as a diet anymore. Diets never work. I choose to live a Paleo lifestyle. I really don’t see myself just casually stopping or going back to a dairy and grain based life. I feel better about myself. I look better. And gosh darn it I really like it.

Left side is circa 2010. Right side is summer 2011.

DJ’ing A Fetish Ball…

February 26, 2012

Glitter. Glitter. Glitter. When I was asked to dj the “My Love Hurts Fetish Ball,” a fundraiser for Pride Kansas City. I didn’t hesitate a second in saying yes. But I wasn’t sure what to expect…or how my “dj attire” would go over. We all know I’ve dj’ed in less. I dj in the nude every summer for Diversity Weekend in Eureka Springs at Magnetic Valley Resort, it’s a men’s only clothing optional resort.

While I was deciding on shoes to match my dj attire…It dawned on me that I didn’t even contemplate what I was wearing. I had already decided on leather without even really thinking about which fetish I was going to highlight. My only hesitation then was being the “guy” that was overdressed…well in this case underdressed might work better.

I decided it was time to try the outfit on and see what my hubs thought about it. I took a quick pic:

DJ Leather!

His first response was: “Oh My God! You are SUPER HOT!” Quickly followed by: “You are going to need an escort out of the building to your car.” Ha. That’s the type of response I was looking for.

After that it was time to get down to business and work on a set list for the ball of balls. I rarely stick to my setlist and typically go off of the crowd but at last nights event the two were so perfectly mixed I actually played 90% of the songs on my set list. WOW!

Oh so they had live demonstrations at the ball too! Now I had heard of “pups” but never actually seen them in person. That was certainly different. And I totes agree with the host that it takes BALLS to get out there and demonstrate your fetish outside of the bedroom. I mean seriously the guys had on leather masks that looked like dog faces, they played fetch, did tricks…it was wild. But for me watching the “flogging” demonstration was probably the most intense. The flogger and the boy being flogged in his undies was SO into it…I turned the music down to hear him moan. I had no idea it was that erotic.

I had so much fun at the event. I wonder what they will add to next years festivities…. I kind of hope the include Furries into the next one. I like them. Well getting my picture taking with them. Glitter only knows what I will have come up with to wear. Here are a couple more pics from the party.

Taste the dj.

Look at that bum.

Last weekend was bitter-sweet for this lil gay. I had to miss out on one of my close friends turning 40. Sadface.com/me

I hear she had a fabulous “Hampton’s” themed pool party. Which means my birthday pool party coming up HAS to be trashy. BTW Jennifer still waiting on pics from your party… I missed out on the festivities because I worked a couple of promotions that weekend with Studio-D Productions. I loved working with them and can’t wait to work more in the future.

Those two events took up my Friday and Saturday nights…leaving me wide open for Sunday to celebrate my sister in-law’s 40′th birthday. Which brings me to the bitter-sweet. I hate that I missed Jennifer’s birthday but I’m glad I was finally able to do something with the Wilson Women. Chris and I have been together 8 years and this is the first time I’ve been able to participate in one of the girl outings. I really hope we do more of these outings. I may have to start planning a monthly out and about for us…I just had so much fun. Talk about ending the weekend on a high note.

I almost didn’t make it to the Sunday party though. My Saturday ended with me getting home around 5am. (Don’t ask.) Only to be woken up by Christopher at 9:38am reminding me I had a birthday party to attend at one of my favorite lil hot spots. I leapt out of bed in search of my phone. I had planned on riding in the car with all the ladies so I could DRINK my brunch. And the sin wagon was pulling out at 10am with or without this diva. I had to let them know I was on my way. I was showered, shaved, and styled before 10am. Thankfully I made it in time to catch my ride even if I did look a lil hung over. Praise glitter for big sunglasses.

While I would love to provide you with vivid details of said birthday party…I succeeded in drinking my brunch, I laughed so hard I cried not once but multiple times, and I performed in DRAG. Yes. In drag. Couldn’t you just die to witness this in person. You are in luck. Below are a collection of videos I took and I saved the drag one for last.

Marie (birthday girl) is doing body shots for the first time in her LIFE!

Ginger was absolutely cracking me up when she started stripping. I. Die.

I had no idea I was going to be doing DRAG. No idea. Loretta is a sweet heart and dressed me while Daisy is a bitch and I love her.

Off and running.

August 11, 2011

Awe running. I am not known as a runner. And up until a few weeks ago the last time I ran was in 2003. But I convinced myself and Chris that to meet some respectable gays we would have to join a group outside of the slutosphere…ie. the youthful grindr, aging manhunt.net, and the tired gay.com.

Not only have we met some amazeball guys in the group and I have to say I am in love with how great running is for slimming my waist.  If you are in the KC metro area or visiting anytime soon check out the facebook page for Kansas City Frontruners and join us on a run.

A Night Out

July 7, 2011

A few weeks ago there was a Gay Pride Celebration in Kansas City. Chris and I came up for the weekend to celebrate and meet some new friends. We were still waiting to hear back from the realtor about the farm we wanted. (Thankfully we did get it!)

So we went out for dinner, on what I consider to be the most magical night of nights GAY Pride night, to this gem of a Thai restaurant called LuLu’s. Dinner was fab, the atmosphere was perfect, and the waiter kept my Ginger Martini’s coming.

Thankfully we were meeting some people at this new bar called Lux. Which is a new vibrant take on the tired old disco gay bars in KC.

Absolutely loved hanging with Kevin and his bf Doug. They introduced us to some of their close friends and after a few shots we were all dancing the night away.

“@lulus in #KC for dinner. “

I may not be starting fights in the yard but I’d do anything for a Lil Kim poster. Miss her. I’m still waiting for the next CD to drop. Until then here’s the skinny on last week. My friend Jared and I finally got to lay out and I’m so glad he brought his own shortie shorts.  Fear not I had my favorite Aussie Bum trunks on. The same pair I wore to GAY Days where I saw 5′s and 10′s of people wearing the same thing. (fail)

Too Funny

Loves to Pose.

Sadly I did not get a feather in my hair. And yes I am epically disappointed. (whitegirlproblems) Word on the street is that it will be happening next week. I hope so. I think a giant Peacock feather would look A-mazing on me. Course I’m biased and slightly delusional.

Love my job.

Oh. My. Glitter.  You are going to so wish you were with me last Saturday. I dj’ed at one of my FAVORITE stores MACA Clothe. Love that place and the hot owner Mandy. She was looking beyond fierce. I was ecstatic to dj for her and those lovely ladies. We had so much fun dancing and I even learned how to do the “Wobble!” I can promise you I did not look like these people. I really need to find someone to teach me how to dance.

And I sneeze…

May 5, 2011

My day has been consumed by sneezes. Granted I love a good sneeze.

But I’ve been sneezing like that all day long. And the appeal wore off around 8am. I’m thinking it has to be something in the house. I went to the gym and ran errands…all without a single sneeze or sniffle. Yet when I got home this afternoon it started back up. Non-stop. I contemplated taking a picture of the massive mound of Kleenexes and putting it on here but changed my mind. No one wants to see that. Especially me.

My escape for the day was the gym. I worked upper body today and was moving around a little slow. My legs were sore from my workout yesterday but now they are hurting. I’m like a grandpa with a double hip replacement walking around. I think I might have over did my leg workout…just a tad.

I rushed around trying to get all my errands done so I could lay out but it didn’t happen today. I can promise it is on the list of things to do tomorrow complete with one of my all time favorite bathing suits…my GayDays AussieBum that EVERYone was wearing.

Tomorrow is Friday and I’m going to try to make sure it’s nothing like a Rebecca “gag me” Black song. I’m hanging out with my friend Jared (GAY) He’s got feathers in his hair and I’m getting some too. I would get tinsel…but is that going to far. (pics to follow) Anyways back to the gay. So. Our agenda tomorrow is gym, tan, feathers, shop, and club. It’s the “Gay Lifestyle.” And in-case you missed it…there isn’t an option in the agenda to eat. I told him we could do a protein shake after the gym but that was it….so he better get extra protein in his shake.

Ok I have tons of stuff to do…I started putting boxes together. Looks like I’m almost ready to start packing.

Hump day…

May 4, 2011

Look's bad.

Fit is not go.

Today was another sunny day. And I didn’t skip a beat in hitting the gym this morning after I got Chloe to school (on time I might add). Feels good to be getting back in the groove. I took about 3 weeks off from the gym and it wasn’t planned. I only meant to take a week off. During that week off I got the flu (hardcore) so that set me back another week. Then on the day I was feeling better I was on my way to the gym and hydroplaned off the road. Sadly my poor car did not fare so well in the accident. Thankfully my sister is letting me borrow her car now. So I can finally make it back to the gym.

After my workout I made lunch for my friend Marcus. Mmm hmmm. We had Chicken Pad Thai and let me tell you it was probably one of the best dishes I’ve made to date. Then we watched almost all of the “SteamRoomStories” on Youtube. I have to say I’m loving this new channel.  Oh and I introduced him to Cole Escola via Facebook and Youtube. Cole is so funny and I’m sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for his next video.  I so wish I had the money to just fly up to NYC to watch one of his shows.

"Sunscreen Lens"

Blurry Right?

Oh like I was saying today was another sunny day and I took advantage of that young fit sun. I laid out in a pair of AussieBum short shorts I got my bf years ago. Not one of my favorites but I figured since I’ve never worn them I thought I would give them a try. Mmmm no. I don’t like them. Don’t like the cut. They are WAY too lose for me. My twigs and berries were constantly falling out every time I moved. Certainly not pool side attire. Unless of course you are at a GAY pool party.

Moving MaterialsA couple of days ago I got a lot of the boxes, packing materials, tape, and markers I needed to start packing up the house. Yet I can’t bring myself to start. I know I need too. The POD will be here soon for me to start filling up and we are in the works of closing on a beautiful farm house in Liberty, MO. (It’s about 25 mins North of downtown Kansas City, MO.) Yet here I stand in the living room staring at all the boxes. My mind drifts and I find myself staring out the window.

I don’t mean to sound as if I’m not excited about the move. I am. I’m ecstatic about new opportunities, more friends, the idea of a new chapter in the story of our lives together, and living in big city that has “City” in its name.

I know some of my hesitation is because once I start packing it makes it all real. I’m not ready for it to be real just yet. I think I’ll let the boxes sit a few more days and I’ll ponder their fate over my coffee in the morning.

–In case you didn’t know my partner of 7years got a job in Kansas City so we are moving from Fayetteville, AR to KC. He moved up in February to start work. We thought/think it would be best to wait till school is out before our daughter and I move up in June.–
